The unit as received is well constructed, but the product description for coin inspection leaves a bit to be desired. the total depth of field would not allow for a total coin inspection. to see a total quarter, the optics need to be at least 12 inches away. I have been attempting to adapt the camera to a larger mount. I have used a small tripod and made a clamp mount. the unit objective is now 14 inches above the coins. but the tripod is not truly adjustable or stable. It would be great if the units adaptability did allow for a tripods screw mount. as an other suggestion, increase the overall adjustable height of the supplied base to 18 inches. also, at this greater distance, the internal light casts a yellowish coloration to the coin.
